(Note: Since, Most of the submission are similar and all  entries will get prizes as we have declared 3 prizes, which don’t fit into the minimum criteria for the competition.  Hence, Logo design competition’s Jury team requested for date extension .)

LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION

Kathmandu Valley Development Authority was established on 1st Baisakh, 2069 under Kathmandu Valley Development Authority Act 2045. However, it officially initiated its activities on 15th Baisakh, 2069. Its primary mandate is to prepare and implement an integrated physical development plan for Kathmandu Valley, which now encompasses five municipalities and 99 VDC’s with estimated permanent population of 3 million and floating population of another 2.5 million.

The mission of KVDA is to develop Kathmandu valley as a Safe, Clean, Organized, Prosperous and Elegant (SCOPE) national capital region. For the KVDA to institutionalize its corporate icon, it needs its own corporate logo. Hence this program has been introduced on this fiscal year 070/071 as “To recommend through design competition for KVDA’s logo, letterhead, report etc in partnership with SONA”. With open mind for active involvement of various organizations in Kathmandu valley’s integrated development, KVDA recognized the Society of Nepalese Architects’ (SONA) as its important partner for gaining ownership in the Kathmandu valley’s development.

Submission Requirement

5. 5. Corporate font (Nepali & English)

Final date of Submission: 1st of Ashad, 2071 (15th of June, 2014) 2071/03/15.

Design Competition Criteria

For Logo Design:

1. 1. May reflect the architecture/culture/heritage of Kathmandu Valley
2. 2. Should include KVDA establishment date- Estd. 2069 BS
3. 3. May include prominent landscape of Kathmandu Valley

For Letter Head Design:

1. 1. Should have Government of Nepal logo on the Top right corner and KVDA logo on the Top left corner
2. 2. Should be in Nepali and English

For Report Format:

1. 1. Open
2. 2. Should be in Nepali and English

Design Competition Procedure

1. 1. Registration (Please register your name with contact details for the competition at the SONA office)
2. 2. Submission of final design with concept for the logo (max. 100 words) in both hard and soft copy
3. 3. Selection of 3 winning entries by eminent panel of Jury. Jury members shall be selected by SONA.
4. 4. Announcement of winners through SONA website within a week of final design submission
5. 5. Awards and certificate shall be distributed in upcoming SONA event.
